Well, summer is almost begun for me and I hope to start my animation soon! I hope I will have the will power to actually finsh it though...or even start it...
Wow, it's been a while since I made my last blog post. Anyways, as stated in the tile, a lot of changes have taken place since June regarding my flash. I'll let you in on what they are very shortly. And you won't even have to wait 5 months for the next post!
Ok, I joined NG after lurking around here for years in order to join the Metal Gear Mega Collab, but due to some school and time restraints, I wasn't able to finish in the time given. No matter, now I'm planning on starting my animation project that I have been planning for a few months now. I plan on making a trailer that not only helps enhance my skills, but tests my frame by frame (which I hope the ENTIRE serious will remain). Instead of being a regular trailer, this trailer will act as a stand-alone episode in the series that may or may not look into future episodes (depending if I scrap some ideas or not).
This will be my first full length animation (I'm aiming for 3-5 minutes), so I'm a bit nervous about whether or not all of my efforts will translate into the front page or not. I'm also sweating about this project because it isn't going to be funny at all. I'm not so good at animating things that will make people laugh, so I tend to focus on serious shorts. I plan to base my animation (and even feature music) from the game Shadow of the Colossus. I hope you guys like it, as I will be constantly updating my info and status on project "GATE." Look out for it.
Not sure if that video was already on NG, but to my knowledge there is only one.
I was just looking around Newgrounds and discovered this API thing. Upon reading it, I'm guessing I can make money off of my flash movies. I have a few questions, though:
1. Will you get money regardless of the flash, or is it based on various factors (quality of flash/how good it is)?
2. Where will these ads appear?
3. Is it a good idea to do it for your first submissions to Newgrounds?
I have been playing with flash for a year now and have started on my very first series and was wondering if this API thing is a good idea. Hopefully I can get my questions answered. Thanks, all!
As a long time visitor of Newgrounds, I have been debating on whether or not I should join this website until I finished my first flash movie or just for the heck of it. Well, since I haven't really made progress on it, I decided to join much later on in the summer, but the Metal Gear Collab sparked my interest so much, I just HAD to get in this thing. I have been here for a good couple of years (maybe around 5) and have loved this place so much. I can spent literally entire afternoons on this website laughing to some of the stuff put up here and voting on them. Now, as a full-fledged user on Newgrounds, my votes can finally make a difference!
Being only 15, I am not exactly expected to be a great artist/animator, but I do know my way around flash. One of the main reasons as to why I waited so long to join is because I didn't want my first submission to suck. Even if it doesn't make it on the front page, I would at least like to see it turn green on the portal. Once the MGS Collab came up though, I decided, "what the heck" and went for this instead.
Be sure to look out for my submission in the upcoming collab (if it makes it in) and my upcoming series The Gate hopefully later this summer. Glad to finally be a member on Newgrounds!
Oh, and since this new video embed thing just came out...
